Help: Museum Register

Overview:

The Museum Register provides detailed information about aircraft located in various museums. Users can filter the data based on several fields such as registration, type, construction number (C/N), owner, comments, and status. Additionally, a dropdown allows selecting different museums to view their respective aircraft collections.

How to Use:

  1. Select Museum:

    • Use the dropdown at the top of the page to choose the museum whose aircraft you want to view.
    • Once a museum is selected, the table will populate with the relevant aircraft records for that specific museum.
  2. Table Columns:

    • Registration: Displays the registration number of the aircraft. You can filter by entering part or all of the registration number in the search box provided.
    • Type: This column lists the model or type of aircraft (e.g., "Miles M.14A Magister"). You can filter by typing the aircraft type in the search box.
    • C/N (Construction Number): The unique production number of the aircraft is listed here, which can also be used to filter the data.
    • Owner: This column displays the current owner of the aircraft, typically the museum name (e.g., "Duxford Air Museum"). You can filter by owner name if necessary.
    • Comments: Any additional information or notes about the aircraft are shown here, such as historical details or paint schemes.
    • Status: The current status of the aircraft in the museum is displayed here. For example, the aircraft may have a status of "Museum," indicating it is on display.
  3. Filtering:

    • You can use the search boxes under each column to filter the list. For example:
      • Filter by the aircraft type to find specific models within the museum.
      • Use the registration number or owner to narrow down your search.
    • Filtering multiple columns at once will provide more specific results.

Tips:

  • Use the dropdown to quickly switch between different museum collections.
  • The comments section often provides useful historical or restoration-related information, so be sure to check it when looking for details on specific aircraft.
